About me

CarlyJerstad21140.jpg

Carly Jerstad is originally from Evansville, IN and earned her BFA in dance from Ball State University. While at Ball State, she studied extensively with artists such as Sidra Bell and Noa Shadur. Post grad, Carly spent a year as a trainee with the Big Muddy Dance Company in St. Louis, Mo., then moved to New York City to complete Broadway Dance Center's Professional Semester. There she spent time training with Skye Mattox, Chip Abbot, Josh Assor and Rachel Lee Dolan amongst many others with a chance to perform pieces by Shannon Lewis, Shelly Hutchinson and Alex Mitchell.

Vocally, Carly has been singing all her life performing lead roles in musicals and singing pop/rock in talent and variety shows. She has also studied classically, performing Die Fledermaus in Ball State’s Opera Theatre.

Carly enjoyed using all her talents as a Singer/Dancer for Celebrity Cruise Lines in the production cast.

Carly has a passion for Color Guard and has spent two summers performing with the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps (2016-17) As an educator, Carly has been a movement instructor for the 2022 Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps and 2025 Phantom Regiment season, while also choreographing for high schools programs.

What's happening now?

Carly is continuing to  dance and take class but has enjoyed nurturing her second love, singing - performing in local cabarets and open mics across the city.

Diving into creation, this October Carly is participating as a choreographer in "Muse" a collection of choreography produced, choreographed and danced by women and non-binary artists at Arts on Site NYC. All proceeds support Rainn, a National Sexual Assault Hotline.

Additionally, next year she hopes to produce a second version of her show "Babes of Bluegrass." A concert style cabaret showcasing the unique perspective and impactful voice of female songwriters in the folk/rock and Americana genre.
